Cyanotypes

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process developed in the 19th century, recognised for its distinctive deep Prussian blue. The process involves coating paper or fabric with a light-sensitive solution, arranging objects, negatives or imagery across the surface, and exposing it to sunlight or UV light. Once washed in water, the exposed areas develop into rich blue tones while protected areas remain pale, creating a unique image shaped by light, time and chance.

My cyanotype works explore this balance between control and unpredictability, using the process to capture delicate forms, textures and traces of my surrounding environment.
